LA.R.S.48:250:2 and 250.3 authorize the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to develop and award contracts using the Design-Build contracting method.

Design-Build combines into a single contract the design and construction of a project. Contractors are afforded the opportunity to participate in the design in an effort to reduce cost and contract time.
