Applications:
Applications are due by October 1 of each year. A pre-application and a letter from the Department advising the sponsor to proceed in development of an application must have been obtained. Applications generally require field work and numerous calculations; therefore, they are expensive to prepare properly. If upon submitting a pre-application for a given flood problem, the Evaluation Committee determines the Statewide Flood Control program is not the appropriate source of funding, then the sponsor will be so advised in order to minimize expenses to the sponsor.
Applications can be submitted up to four years after the submittal of the pre-application.
The preparation of the application, which is really a comprehensive engineering study investigating alternatives and impacts associated with various solutions, does require professional assistance.
The requirements in the preparation of an application to solve an existing flood problem are discussed in the "Guidelines and Procedures for the Statewide Flood Control Program". Copies may be obtained upon request.
