Student Employment

DOTD student programs allow students to gain valuable work experience across several career fields in the governmental transportation industry.

Co-op Student Employment
The DOTD Co-op Student Employment program allows engineering students that have attained Junior/Senior classification to enhance the educational process by providing opportunities to explore their interest in transportation engineering through practical work experience at DOTD.  Students are employed year-round in positions related to their major engineering field of study:  civil, mechanical, environmental, electrical, industrial, or chemical engineering.  In addition to the opportunity to receive university credit, participating students earn a salary commensurate with their academic level, experience, and ability. Applicants meeting eligibility requirements may be selected until spaces are filled each semester/quarter. Send completed SF-10D (Student Employment Application), an official transcript, and letter of endorsement to LTRC, Director of Co-op, 4101 Gourrier Avenue, Baton Rouge, LA 70808.
