Construction Management at Risk (CMAR)

Pursuant to Louisiana R.S. 38:2225.2.4, the Louisiana Legislature has authorized the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LA DOTD) to use the Construction Management at Risk (or “CMAR”) project delivery method as specified for public works projects.

CMAR is a delivery method by which the LA DOTD uses a design professional, that is engaged by the LA DOTD for professional predesign or design services, or both. The LA DOTD contracts separately with a CMAR Contractor to engage in the Preconstruction Phase. The same CMAR Contractor may also provide construction services for the project.
