Title VII/State Internal Program Unit

The purpose of the State Transportation Agency’s (STA) Internal EEO / Title VII Program is to ensure fair and equal treatment of persons regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age and disability in all employment practices. The STA has the responsibility to develop and implement an Affirmative Action (AA) Program Plan to achieve parity of minorities and females in all major job categories. The purpose of the Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) is the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action (EEO) of the STA’s programs. The purpose of the AAP Update is to report the progress and accomplishments of the STA’s EEO programs.

The STA’s EEO Programs (AAP and AAP Update) are submitted to and approved by the FHWA Division Office and State Department of Civil Service.

The AAP covers the STA’s five (5) year program plan activities and the approval period is five years; however, submission of the updated annual AAP update is required. When the five (5) year AAP period has expired, the STAs are required to submit a new five (5) AAP to the FHWA Division Office for review and approval.
